Old Fashioned Carraway Seed Cake

Seed cake was very popular in Victorian times, and was almost always on the Tea Tray. 

Caraway seed cake is a lovely light cake similar to Madeira cake in texture, with its subtle hints of Caraway, and mixed citrus peel sprinkled through it, it has an almost sweet/savoury feel about it 

Seed cake can be served with butter, or without, and is perfect for a cup of tea break, or, on the afternoon Tea Tray in the traditional way

This is a 2lb loaf cake, and will happily serve 12 slices
